Ingredients
  

Chicken Wings

  • 2 lbs chicken wings split into flats and drumettes
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp baking powder for crispy texture

Sweet and Sour Sauce

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce use gluten-free if needed
  • 1/4 cup honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (slurry)
  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger optional
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp orange juice for zesty sweetness

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Rinse and pat dry the chicken wings. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and baking powder.
  • Arrange wings on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • In a saucepan, combine ketchup, rice vinegar, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, orange juice, ginger, and garlic. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Once wings are cooked, toss them in the sauce until evenly coated. Optional: return to oven for 5 minutes to caramelize.

Notes

For crispier wings, bake on a wire rack. Add chili flakes for extra heat.
